This policy explains what the Character Counter Pro browser extension does with your information. It is written to be read in full in about two minutes.
The extension runs entirely in your browser. It collects nothing, transmits nothing, and does not talk to any server. There is no account, no tracking and no analytics.

When you paste or type text into the extension popup, the counting runs locally in your browser. Your text is not uploaded, not stored on any server, and not shared with anyone.
The extension uses the browser's own storage, which stays on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.

You can clear either at any time by turning draft memory off in the extension settings, by clearing the extension's data from your browser, or by removing the extension.
The page checker runs only after you click the Check this page button. At that moment the extension reads the page title and the meta description from the tab you are viewing, and shows you their length and a search result preview. It does not modify the page, and the values it reads are not transmitted anywhere. The extension cannot read pages unless you click the button on them.

The extension is a general purpose writing tool and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, including children.
If the extension ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Because the extension currently makes no network requests and collects no data, we do not expect material changes.
